Patient’s death calls for an investigation of Temple Regency Manor

Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services spokeswoman, Melissa Gale, announced on Monday, August 3 that Regency Manor Healthcare Center in Temple, Texas is under investigation for the death of a 43-year-old male nursing home patient who died under the care of the facility.

The investigation is concerning possible patient neglect, with the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services providing the authorities with records of complaints and incidents at the facility from Jan. 1, 2013 through July 29, 2015.

The records showed that around 150 of the filed resident abuse claims were unsubstantiated, while 17 claims were found to be true, with the facility receiving citations for non-compliance. Eleven reports further indicated records of substantiated claims, although in these instances the facility was not cited; instead it was noted that these ordeals were the fault of employees.
