Nursing home nurses want to work elsewhere – survey
Nursing home nurses in the United States who have been in this industry for a long time desire a career in a different aspect of health care more than nurses from other fields, a survey from employment website CareerBuilder and market research firm Harris Poll showed.
According to the survey, highly-skilled nursing professionals who have been working in nursing home facilities for five years or more are the ones most likely to be ready for a professional change of pace. However, ambulatory care nurses are most likely to remain in their positions.
In the survey, 54% of the nurses interviewed cite balance of work and life as the reason they would want to change nursing care industries.
Some nursing homes fail to provide the best possible medical health care, and instances of neglect or abuse do occasionally arise in these facilities.
