Nursing home investigations promote prevention of elderly abuse
Two nursing homes – St. Mary’s Home of Erie East, located at the 600 block of east 26th street in Erie, Pennsylvania and Golden Living Centers across the Commonwealth, which includes the Golden Living Western Reserve Facility on west 54th street in Millcreek – are being investigated for alleged nursing home abuses against their patients.
The Attorney General’s Office raided the St. Mary’s on Tuesday, September 15 with the state Attorney General’s Special Investigations unit gathering dozens of computer hard drives and computers from the nursing home. The AG’s Office had been carrying a sealed warrant at the time of the raid.
Golden Living Centers, on the other hand, was sued for charges of abuse and neglect.
